BUSY SATURDAY ~ EASY DINNER

Today was a busy Saturday ~ A trip to Costco to stock the pantry and freezer.  (Held off till the first of the year)  Picked up some prescriptions and hearing aid batteries and a few other errands.  I was tired and wanted an easy dinner so stuck a couple russet potatoes in the oven, a little broccoli, cheese and cream sauce, topped with some bacon bits and a tasty and easy dinner.

This evening we had a drink of hot lemon with honey.  The cups are a Christmas Gift from the Staff of Villa Ramona.  Don had a mild clover honey, and I had a little stronger honey that my friend got in New Zealand.  Manuka Honey.  Very good indeed.  Trying to drink less coffee.

Looking forward to Church tomorrow as we have met some friends there that want to take us to lunch.  Next Wednesday begins their weekly Bible study, and Tuesday I will be attending a Women's weekly Bible study.  Life is good and Sunday's are Special.

  3. I love your dinner...scrumptious! I love those meals that everything can go in the oven together...great for the winter, too!

I drink tea in the evening...no coffee after 5pm. It's a nice change!

  4. That looks like a great dinner - and healthy!!!
I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning and herbal/green tea in the afternoon and usually white wine in the evening......with large glasses of lemon water in between!
Just keeping up with meds is a big job - at least for me! I fill both of our pill boxes and try to do 2 weeks at a time. It's a chore!

  8. Your dinner sounds good. I need to do an easy dinner when I get home from work. Sounds as if you have found a good church. The church I attend has a Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study which I lead and a Wednesday evening Bible Study which my husband leads. So our weeks look very much alike!

  10. The warm honey sounds good, we're expecting cold weather this week and a warm drink would be good.

  11. that dinner looks good - i like quick fast dinners that are tasty. Just made a chicken spread with lots of veggies in it (I get the canned chicken from Costco and we just stocked up also recently)....and then put them on torta rolls. Yum. Thanks for clueing me in about the "clapping tree" - I found it wonderful to read.

  12. Your dinner looks so good and comforting. And hot lemon and honey - can't beat that. I had pumpkin honey for the first time a few months ago. Loved it. Have been trying to dig into it judiciously but the jar is almost gone!

  13. I always do quick meals. Today for lunch had potatoes with green beans. Manuka honey is supposed to have a high dose of antibacterial properties, much more than the commercial honeys. Good for a sore throat. Have a good week. Tammy
