My KitchenAid arrived safe and sound and has found it's home in my kitchen.  I now have room for my blender in the far corner where my small mixer was.

Couldn't be happier.  I decided on white since I change the colors in my kitchen for each of the seasons.  It's a 5.5 qt. with lift bowl.  Came with the whisk, paddle and bread hook.  It fits perfectly in the corner where the canisters were, next to the outlet.

The canisters moved to the other side of the kitchen, and look cute wherever I put them.

Tomorrow after church, we are going to our son's for Super Bowl and a feast of chili and cornbread.

I have a big Blackberry cobbler in the oven to take, and it sure smells good.  What are your plans for Super Bowl?

SPRING ???????

We didn't live at Villa Ramona last Spring so I was surprised to see these lovely white blooms coming out on the tree in front of our  balcony.

I don't know what kind of tree it is, but I think in a few weeks it will be covered with these little white flowers.  I may get some bees and humming birds to watch.  Hope my allergies don't kick up.  HaHa.

We are just hanging out today as my new KitchenAid I ordered on line should be delivered sometime this afternoon.  I love how you can track a UPS shipment.  It left Missouri three days ago, spent the night in Colorado and this morning was in California for delivery.  I decided I'd save the $18.99 shipping fee to get it here in one day...I've waited years to get a KitchenAid...what's a couple more days.  It was actually fun tracking it!

This was a great "Thursdate"  We had several errands to run in Monrovia and decided to just turn it into a "Date".

This may be the best salad I've ever had.  Spinach with boiled egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and warm bacon balsamic dressing.  Topped with a perfectly cooked piece of salmon.   It was so big, I will have the rest of it for dinner.

My dearest chose to have half a turkey club and salad.  Both lunches came with a muffin, which we brought home for dessert later.

Yes, this delightful lunch was at MiMi's.

Then a stop at Trader Joe's for some of the things I especially like from there.  They have "small" pork roasts, and the ones at Costco are just too BIG for us.  Also they have Doggie Treats that Molly likes.  Since it was a "date" my dearest had me pick out some flowers.

I decided on red roses since I have so much red and white in the house now for February and Valentines Day.

I couldn't decide if I wanted the bouquet in front of the mirror with the Love Sign or.....

on the table as the centerpiece.  What do you think?

The reason we had all this time to run around and have lunch in Monrovia was Molly was at the groomer with Gabriel.  We drop her off at 10 AM and pick her up at 1 PM.  Couldn't have worked out better.

A wonderful THURSDATE!!

PS ~ Just a reminder.  I love your comments and will respond back to you, so be sure and check back.

Liked the way the shadow on the wall looked in this photo.

It's not a great view, but Molly likes it, cause she can see who comes and goes on the stairs to our apartment.

Watching the blizzards on the East coast, and seeing convertibles on my way to Julie's.  Gotta love Southern CA.

Freddie enjoys a clean house too.  I can't believe he's two years old.  I've never had a Beta fish live over a year.  He fat and sassy and still comes up and bumps my finger.  Who says you can't pet a fish.  HaHa.

We spent Sunday afternoon with our son, Myk and the family.  Max is the family dog, (my granddog haha) You can see he loves me and thinks I have a nice soft lap.

I kept saying "Max, NO kissing on the lips!!! If you want a big wet kiss....Max is your man.

Speaking of Big...Don and I feel very small standing with Elijah and Kaleb.
Kaleb heads back to college in Illinois, so this was a chance to say good bye and take a pumpkin pie and cookies.
Elijah will celebrate his 18th birthday next week, so it was a Birthday Pie too.

Phil. 5:6 " In everything present your requests to God."

There is nothing like sharing your heart with a close and true friend.  That's must be what Charles C. Converse was thinking about Jesus when he penned this hymn.

That is my prayer today ~ to meditate on those words that remind me I can take my deepest hurts and hidden secrets.  my biggest blessings and heart of joy to Jesus in Prayer, because He is my Friend.

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer.
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care!
Precious Savior, still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield three.
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear.
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon, in glory, bright, unclouded
There will be no need for prayer;
Rapture, praise and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.

Can you imagine a time when we won't need to pray?  Only in Heaven!!!

Breakfast is my favorite meal.  Bring it on for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  I get bored with the usual breakfast I make so this morning I jazzed it up a bit with  a Zucchini Egg Bake.  Click for the recipe.

It's a simple recipe from Taste of Home and doesn't involve crust.    My dearest likes a little salsa and sour cream on his.

What is your favorite breakfast?

For years my colors of choice were browns, beige, tan and cremes.  It started way back when it was popular to find out if you were a Summer, Fall or Winter.  With my auburn hair and brown eyes I was declared a "Fall" and wore those colors.

But with Winter this year I was loving all the grays, charcoals and black.  Today at the Thrift Store I found a cute gray top with buttons and tie. (Forever 21 ~ $2.99)  A short sleeve black top with square neckline.  (Coldwater Creek ~ $1.99)  There were two John Grisham books I hadn't read, and can you believe I found both of them today for 50 cents each.  A very good day!

A few weeks ago I won a a giveaway from Monica in Sweden.  It was her 2015 Calendar with her photographs.  It came in the mail this week and is a delightful calendar with shots from her side of the world.

This is the picture for January ~ Isn't that too cute?  Yes,  a very good day.

My visit with Elizabeth was wonderful.  She had cassettes of Pipe Organ music and most of them are Hymns.  She was amazed that I knew the words to all of them.  We played a little game ~ We read a title, and then I sang it to her.  She did not grow up in Church so many of these are new to her.  When we got to "When the Roll is Called up Yonder" I said Elizabeth when the roll is called, we will be there together and she agreed we would."  You might remember that I had the opportunity some time back to share the Gospel with her at 97, and she responded and that made IT A VERY GOOD DAY.

Remember all those lemons I brought home from our trip?  Well they were ripening faster than I could use them, so the solution was juice them.

The best way I know to save the juice for future use is freeze them in cubes, bag them and use as needed.

We were looking for something in the storage room on the balcony and I found the Willow Tree girls I had been missing since we moved.  This one I keep where it can be seen as it's such a reminder of sitting with a friend and sharing our hearts.

Since my word for 2015 is study, I just love my little girl engrossed in a book.  I have several more, but I'll share them on another day.

For Throw Back Thursday, I picked one of my favorites.  This was taken when I was probably 6.  My sister Donna 12, and my Mom and Dad.  Don't you just love my dad's three piece suit. and my mom's hair parted down the middle.  No "teasing" hair back them, and then that little pose I'm doing.  It's obvious this is a 1940's picture.

After Bible Study this morning we enjoyed a Bridal Shower for one of the young women in the study.  The cake was so cute.  An umbrella of cupcakes.

This gives you a idea of the group of ladies I'm sharing with every Tuesday morning.  How nice after the study to have a little shower and enjoy some more fellowship.

We were given prayer partners and if we need a little encouragement during the week, there is someone to call.

The theme for Creative Tuesday this time was pick a word that would best represent your word for 2015.  I chose STUDY and I have joined a ladies Bible study and there are lessons to do and that takes study.
I'm illustrating my word with a Mobile.  Study takes books, lots of coffee, the object of the study, the Bible, reading glasses, and most important, I'm hoping to learn new insights for daily living.

I have a wonderful place to do this studying.  The Tree House Balcony.  Please forgive the "bed hair".   HaHa.

To see all the Words the other participants have chosen for the theme, just click on the CT Badge on my side bar.   Do you have a word for 2015?

It's a brand new day.  My circumstances have not changed but my heart has.  Because of all your love and prayers, and the lesson my dearest taught in Sunday School yesterday morning my heart is not feeling so heavy.  In fact I am feeling a wonderful peace and joy knowing who is in control.

I know you heard that happiness depends on what happens, and   joy come from deep with in the soul.  Prayer and love from friends and family does change things.  So with this new day,  I rise with praises on my lips and peace in my heart.

We do have a new circumstance which seems so minor in comparison because it's my car, not a person.  My little Nissan is 15 years old, and the power steering pump died.  Funny how you put things in perspective ~~ it's just a car,  for heaven's sake.  You can replace a pump.  Life happens ~ and how we handle it makes all the difference.

That said, I want to thank each and every one of you for your words of comfort, sending love, and saying prayers.  I treasure each and every one of you.

Dear Lord, sad is my heart.  This year has already brought sorrow to our friends and family.  Sickness, surgeries, cancer diagnosis, and pain.  You are my rock and my fortress, but my heart hangs heavy in my breast from the grief and tears.  Lord this song we sang Wednesday night at Bible study is my comfort.   I love you and I'm setting my gaze on You alone.

I set my gaze on God alone
And trust in Him completely,
With every day pour out my soul
And He will prove His mercy.
Though life is but a fleeting breath,
A sigh too deep to measure,
My King has crushed
The curse of death
And I am His forever.

When we got back from our trip, I knew it was time to take down Christmas.  I don't have too many Valentine decorations, but took what I had and left the splashes of red and added some pink and white and hearts.  Since there are restriction on hanging things on the outside door, I put this hanger in the kitchen, and took down the chickens for now and hung my fruit pie plates.

I put out the Valentine dish towels, and the Mug Cakes Recipe Book Julie gave me for Christmas.  This is the good and the bad....Had to make another Cinnamon Roll Bread (bad), but in the background see my "lemon/cucumber water...(good) I've had three glasses today.

When I was at the CVS to pick up a prescription this cute little plant in a pink pot said "You need a splash of pink in the kitchen too."  So that's where it is, and I love the view of the living room and balcony from the Kitchen.

Have you ever been "Welcomed" into the bathroom?  HaHa.  Again, I have to find places to hang things that hung on my front porch in our last house.  I left the red towels up, and added some pink and white and more hearts.

My little blue and pink bird says love to me,

Another pink heart, and a candle that needs replaced.

You know I can't do a post without food... I do try, but that where I live most of the time..the kitchen.  Tonight it was chicken thighs in the crock pot, baked potato with all the fixings and baby squash from Costco.

This morning begins the Ladies Bible Study "Woman of God" and last week at the Introduction to the study, I volunteered to bring the baked goods.  My apricot/white chocolate/walnut scones will go nicely with the coffee, and I had some pie crust so made some little cinnamon rolls.

Our friends up North gave us a large bag of Meyer lemons and I'm going to take some to share with the ladies at the Bible study.

I can see some good lemon treats ahead, but I'm going to be sure to drink lots of lemon water as I want to drop some of the Thanksgiving and Christmas pounds that jumped on when I wasn't looking.

BTW, thanks to my friend Sue, the problem with my camera, was I changed chips and it was not compatible with my camera.  How simple...right   Thanks Sue!!

We took a quick trip to Northern CA to take care of some business and had a few stopovers to visit friends and family.  Spent a couple of nights with our Blog Friends in Rockin, lunch with my sister and    hubby, and then a couple of nights with my cousin who was watching Molly for us.  All in all it was a wonderful little getaway. Some business but mostly fun and visiting.

The reason there are NO pictures... I somehow did something that put on the "card lock" on my camera, and didn't have my manual with me and tried every button to unlock it, but when I get unpacked I will figure it out.

It was a computer break too, but now I'll get around to visit all of you.

We have fond memories of all the churches we have served in, but the First Baptist Church of Hughson, was our home and ministry for 27 years.

It hold a special place in our hearts.  It was the little country church on the edge of the old song goes.  The parsonage next door, which holds memories of Roast in the oven on Sunday's, a women's Bible Study on Tuesday evenings.  Potlucks with wonderful homemade dishes.

Our time in Hughson and this church are wonderful Throw Back memories.

The first theme for 2015 for Creative Tuesday is "Ringing in the New Year"
As I thought about this theme, the word "Ring" hit me and I realized I don't have to hear the "ring" of the alarm clock.  A ring I began to hate a few years before my retirement.

I had always thought I was a morning person, as I got up every morning for work at 5:30 or 6:00 AM.  After retirement I realized I was a morning person because I had too...not because I wanted to. Now, my choice of getting up time is mine.  I can roll out, or roll over.  I love my choices and I love not having that old Alarm Clock.

How you will you Ring in your New Year?

Today was a busy Saturday ~ A trip to Costco to stock the pantry and freezer.  (Held off till the first of the year)  Picked up some prescriptions and hearing aid batteries and a few other errands.  I was tired and wanted an easy dinner so stuck a couple russet potatoes in the oven, a little broccoli, cheese and cream sauce, topped with some bacon bits and a tasty and easy dinner.

This evening we had a drink of hot lemon with honey.  The cups are a Christmas Gift from the Staff of Villa Ramona.  Don had a mild clover honey, and I had a little stronger honey that my friend got in New Zealand.  Manuka Honey.  Very good indeed.  Trying to drink less coffee.

Looking forward to Church tomorrow as we have met some friends there that want to take us to lunch.  Next Wednesday begins their weekly Bible study, and Tuesday I will be attending a Women's weekly Bible study.  Life is good and Sunday's are Special.
