THROW BACK THURSDAY

Many of my blog friends have cats.  Betsy (the Cat Lady) has a wonderful array of cats she had adopted and loves, and shares pictures all the time that I get such a kick from.

Linda's, cat Maggie passed away a month or so ago and she just got a new pure white cat named Maddie, I think.

Chris has Scruffy and Mildred has shared her cats, so today I share Figgy and Manana.  We had cats for years, and when we started getting grandchildren, some were very allergic to cats, so we found homes for them, and now only have our Molly Girl.

Figgy, the grey was the most lovable cat we ever had.  This picture is when they were young, but when we was mature, he was huge.  Manana, pure white was my alarm clock when I worked full time.  Every morning at 6 on the dot  she would come up on the bed and pat my cheek to tell me it was time for me to get up for work, and to let her out to do her business.

To all you cat lovers.... I join you!!

  1. Sweet picture, Wanda. I did not realize you had owned cats before. That's cute about Manana being your alarm clock! Enjoy your day.

    1. Oh yes, Mildred. A number of cats. Always loved to have a cat stretched out on a patch of sunlight. I do miss our cats, but at this point in our lives, one little doggie is enough.

  2. My cats are old an d boring, mostly. But sometimes they do exciting things like throw up on the floor or leave mouse guts on the back mat.

    1. They are so different than dogs aren't they? I do miss my cats, but Molly Girl has filled that hole.

    1. We grew up with dogs. My dad was not fond of cats, thus we never had any. My friends did and I always wanted one. When I got married, my hubby was not opposed to cats, so from that day on....we've had them, until the allergies of the grandkids.

  7. Lovely to have a blog about cats. Our Scruffy is such a clown and has such a personality. We love him to bits. I'm behind in blogging. Sometimes life just gets in the way. Have a truly blessed Christmas, Wanda, I might not get back to you for a week or two, but I always read your blog.

  9. Love your cat post! and the pics. We rent now so I won't have a cat here - besides in the mountains we have coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, etc. I would never be able to let them out at all. But I sure miss having them.

    1. Thanks Sandy. You know our youngest daughter lives in Oregon, and a coyote got one of her cats. It was only out for a few minutes. They moved into town since they have a baby now, and didn't want to take the chance of something happening to him.

    1. Us too Kathy. I didn't grow up with cats, but after we got married, always had cats, then grandkids and several were highly allergic...so we are now dog people too... in fact for years we had both.

  12. I never had cats and am not particularly fond of them. There's something about their eyes and the way they look at me that gives me the willies.
That being said, I enjoy hearing other peoples stories about their feline friends.
    Have a great weekend Wanda.
Boy did the rain come down here all day yesterday. We still have our little pump going from all the "unplanned" swimming pool in the back and side yard.
We think our water heater is going out too.
It never rains but it pours!

    1. Oh my, keep your nose above that water. It rained hard here last night and during the night, but the sun broke through the clouds this afternoon.
Speaking of cats...if you get one as a kitty, it's a different story. But Molly girl is enough for us.
