Community Thrift Store

When Martha was here visiting we found a Thrift Shop we had never been too.  It was big, and lots of things, so yesterday my dearest and I went "junking" there.

He found a really cool cane (at our age you never know when you're going to need one..HaHa) and I found two pretty glass trays with poppies and another John Grisham book "Ford County" which takes you back to the location of his first book "A Time to Kill".

We passed another Thrift Store on the way home, but didn't have time to stop...so another day, and another adventure into the junking world.

  1. I saw a doll shop while we were out with Don. It struck me as a place that might be interesting. It was near the ATM you stopped at. Maybe it was "Dee's Place of Dolls"...

I do like Don's cane, and the extra suitcase I found there came in very handy on my trip to Minnesota and home again. I've been finding myself strangely drawn to Goodwill, as if I might find you there looking through the racks too.

  2. Very cool trays and cane.
I'm sure the trays will be filled with yummy cookies too.

  5. Love the cane, much better looking than the ones I have (and had to use about 10 years ago). I haven't felt good this week so haven't been thrifting.....I am having withdrawal.

  7. I love finding treasures in thrift stores. Those little trays are pretty and I hope nobody ever has to use the cane, but it is very nice.

  8. Fun finds you two got! You just never know what will turn up there....I always have fun going. There is a man that walks with a cane that comes to the auctions. He collects unusual canes and has so many! It's always fun to see each one.

  14. I loved that movie, A Time to Kill. I didn't know there was another book out with a continuation from it. I like the cane you found. You could start a collection of those and put them in an umbrella stand. Very pretty!
