THIS AND THAT SATURDAY

My dearest washed my car so I could make a Costco Run.

Love getting fresh veggies and fruit.
Sliced some of those fresh strawberries, and added a few little cinnamon rolls made from left over pie crust.  What a nice little treat.

We were able to get a direct feed on the computer and watched our grandson, Kaleb's college football game back east.

As you can see Kaleb's team, the Panthers, won their game.
Back on the home front, I put the groceries away, got on my swimsuit, my book and heading for the pool.

I'm reading the newest book in the Mitford Series by Jan Karon.  Wonderful series if you haven't read any of them.

I love it when I'm the only one at the pool.  I swim a while, get some sun and read, back in the pool ~ a few more laps, some more reading, one more dip in the pool and back home to take a shower and have a glass of ice tea.

The laptop is becoming more comfortable for me and I'm beginning to download some pictures.

Hope you had a good Saturday.

  1. As I have said before...your moving to "Paradise" is so good for you. Love the way you can spend your Saturday. It's been 102F. Today...I have pretty much stayed in the house.
Dave would like Don's email address so they can do the Football stuff. Have a wonderful weekend. How nice that you could see Kaleb's game and better yet that they won.

    1. We are going to get some of that triple digit weather this week...And Martha is coming from NY, I hope she doesn't melt. It was fun watching the game, but with the screen was larger...kept looking for #16,

    2. It got really cold here yesterday. I've had to wear long sleeves, a sweater, and shoes with socks! Melting sounds wonderful. :)

  3. It sounds like you had a perfect Saturday, Wanda. We are cold here in Michigan, in the 50's, but I love getting outdoors any time I can. What a lovely pool! I have heard of the Mitford Series...it rings a bell. Going to look it up on Amazon right now.

    1. Do check it out. But start with the first one so you don't miss the special beginnings of the saga.

  4. I like the pool with all the shade, and I look forward to reading that Jan Karon book. She is a gifted writer and I hope everyone who hasn't tried it yet will read her Mitford books.

    1. At certain times during the afternoon there is more shade than sun. A really nice blend of both. I love Jan Karon's books.

    3. I hope you wont be disappointed. Apartment living is not like living in an Apple Orchard. HaHa, but it does have its advantages.

  9. Yummy! Love those little cinnamon rolls made with leftover pie crust. I also think you moved to dreamland! How I would love to do that, but my husband isn't ready to leave our house yet. :-(
It's wonderful that you were able to watch your grandson play.

    1. Thanks Jim...we saw one of the catches. Watching on the computer screen doesn't lend itself to seeing everything. Hope they do that well next week.
