CREATIVE TUESDAY ~ THIS OLD BARN

"This Old Barn" is the theme for Creative Tuesday.  I chose to give my watercolor impression of a photograph of a barn my friend, Martha from NY put her blog a long time ago.  I loved the picture and save it, and it was the perfect subject for this theme.

I love the softness of the watercolors in this one.  Gives me a feeling of joy and peace.

  5. I thought I recognized that place! But it was the crocus that really gave it away.

PS. I love old barns, especially if they're full of cows.

    1. I've had that picture saved forever. I loved it when you put in on way back when.... I love cows too..I grew up in dairy country. A few miles from the Hershey Factory...which they closed down and sent to Mexico. Bad!!!

  9. I love barns - particularly dilapidated ones. Every summer, when I was a child, we would visit my aunt's and uncle's farm. Had such fun and I loved learning to milk the cows and playing with all the kitties in the barn. Thanks for the memories!

  11. Yes, it really does have a soft joy about it, doesn't it? Love it. It's very you, I think -- soft heart and joyful, right? :)

You know what I particularly love about it? The splatters of darker olive paint on that yellow hue and the wonderfully lightly rendered tree behind that solid barn.

Great, as always. the flowers in the foreground are a great touch too. Hee, reminds me of mine there, actually. I promise, I did not see it beforehand. Great minds think alike, surely. :) Thank you Wanda!

  12. Wanda, this barn is beautiful! And the flowers in the foreground are divine; they are a brilliant purple, yet echo the softer blue and lilac tones in the sky. I could see this as the illustration for a story set in the country-side, complete with farm life, animals, and everything. The ink and wash look terrific together. Great job!
