COMPUTER CRASH!

Today, of all days 9/11 my computer crashed.  I'm using Don's laptop, but don't have any of my pictures stored here, so this is just a message to let you all know I won't be on the computer very much until we decide what we're going to do.

See if mine is fixable, or maybe I'll take the plunge and get a laptop and learn to use it.  Had my old "desk top" forever, and so maybe it's time for a change.

Hope you all have a great weekend, and I'll be checking in on you.  Not as often as my dearest and I will be sharing a computer. HaHa.

  1. Well if it's any incentive, I would never go back to a desktop. Have had a couple laptops and I love them. So easy - you will adjust in no time. Sorry for your tech woes... but now it's the perfect excuse!

  3. I hate to have to learn a new computer!! Ughhhh. But, I have to admit I really enjoy a laptop after adjusting. ;)

  4. I fought getting a laptop tooth and nail...and was dragged kicking and screaming to the computer store. I can't BELIEVE I didn't want one. Once you get used to using it you will never look back. Using a regular computer now feels "clumsy". AND learn to use the pad (rather than a mouse right away). It will feel awkward for about a week and then you will wonder why the heck ANYONE uses a mouse! lol trust me! Good luck! xo Diana

  5. Bummer! Isn't it strange how our computers have become our connection to the world. We connect with old friends, make new friends, read the news, get information, and sometimes simply just waste time. Whenever I think I want to take a long vacation from it, I find I really don't want to.

  6. I have a desktop computer too and it's nearing the end of its usefulness, but I don't want a laptop.

  7. Dave's desktop bit the dust 2 months ago. Our son Mark got him a new desktop and now he's happy as a clam...(how happy is that?? I don't know)
My laptop is about to go and I really need a new one but the wallet is kind of empty right now. Modern techie stuff I guess really runs our lives. I like Martha's comment about what a computer does.

  8. Sorry about the computer. I don't recommend getting Windows 8 if you can avoid it, unless you have a lot of time and patience. It has taken me 6 months or more to get comfortable with mine!

  9. A computer can crash unexpectedly. It was just surprising that it fell on that day. How was it, btw? I hope your repair guy managed to fix it soon after, so you can go back to your normal blogging routine and other online activities afterwards. But if it was beyond repair, I hope you found a good computer to replace your old one.
