THROW BACK THURSDAY ~ 1988

Morro Bay ~ 1988
My special friend Juliana spending an afternoon at Morro Bay.

We met her husband, Tom, when we were in Biola College and he was at Talbot Seminary.  We became good friends, the after college lost track.
Fast forward to 1968.  We were pastoring a little church in Santa Barbara, and one Sunday, a car drove by and someone yelled "DON SLAVEN" ~It was Tom and he too was pastoring a church in Santa Barbara.  He had married Juliana and we renewed our friendship and have spent many fun times together at their home, our home and several conferences.

Friendship ~ One of God's blessing in this life!

    1. Yes, I picked up another Mr. Coffee at Target. I got the no frills one as all I care about is on and off. It was inexpensive and I've already enjoyed a cup with a cookie.

    1. Oh yes, slouch socks were IN!! I haven't posted a picture yet...but I made a huge decision when we moved. NO MORE TEASING...NO MORE BIG HAIR. I'm just letting it fall easy and soft. Getting use to my new look..will save a ton in hair spray!! But if I'm going to be swimming every day... I need simple!

  4. Getting caught up with you - Molly is so sweet on the balcony looking down on the kids! I have a Braun coffee maker and love it but also bought a Dolce Gusto. Have not used it yet but it can make all kinds of individual fancy coffees as well as tea and iced drinks. Love your photo with your friend on the beach. Pictures like that bring back such fond memories. So great that you re-connected.

    1. Isn't Molly a cutie. I've certainly heard of a Braun, but not a Dolce Gusto. Is that from the wonderful food magazine?
      Friendship ~ a treasure.

    2. Mine Dolce Gusto is what is called the Circolo version (because it is round). Here is a video about it if you feel like watching. It's 18 minutes long but you can skip through to get the idea.

  5. Getting reconnected is so wonderful. I'm glad you can still see them and share the pulpit.
Love your slouch sox and "big" hair. Looking forward to seeing your new style. You are certainly going to be a beauty (not that you weren't already) from the daily exercise of swimming.

Next week I'm going to have lunch with a new friend who is really my second cousin. I think that will be fun too.

    3. Thanks Suza ~ I was looking through my paintings yesterday..when moving everything packed away gets unpacked and repacked. Decided to use them as my headers for a while so I can enjoy them too. Yes, it's time to make an apple pie.
