THE FINAL TOUCHES

When you get the pictures hung, the plate hangers, the mirrors, the paintings then it really feels like home...needed those final touches.  This is looking at the dining area from the living room.  Remember the mirror I had hanging behind my stove, well it found a new home in the dining room.  I love it there as it reflects the balcony and brings more light.  The Tea Cart that Jill gave me has found a home as "Our Coffee CafĂ©."  I actually have a dinning room and can put all four chairs around the table!!
I decided to use the open shelves for the Fiesta Ware to bring some color into the kitchen.  As you can see "Freddie the Fish" has a new home on the counter.  My Chicken plaque and rooster plates finish off the color on that wall.
My dearest starts every morning with toast and coffee, so this is a little breakfast bar.  The hat boxes are full of my tea cups, etc. as I chose to display the milk glass in my swivel hutch, and my mother's hutch found a new home at our daughter Julie's.
Tonight we had tostadas on the balcony.

  1. It looks so nice! Is it my imagination, or do you have more space now? And a real window over your sink...how nice! Everything is looking wonderful!

    1. The sq. footage is approx. the same...but the lay out is much more spacious. The bedroom is large, and the room we call the media room is smaller, but our computer desks, TV, my rocker and Don's recliner fit just fine. Love looking out the window at the trees and hearing the kids laugh in the playground. Yes, cookies have been made.

  11. You have a lovely home and you look so settled. I like the bright kitchen accents and especially the mirror. I have something similar over my kitchen sink to "window-ize" my nook.

  12. I'm so thrilled you have a place for a little dining room table and chair again. Brought lil' tears to my eyes for you in fact. I can picture you doing your drawing and painting there too. :) It's already looking like home and prolly even more so now.
