SHOWING OFF THIS MORNING

Our neighbor's cactus decided to see if the grass was greener on the other side of the fence.  A couple of years ago, she began to creep over the fence and grace our side.  Our neighbor ask if we wanted her to cut it back from our side, and we said NO, we love having her, especially when she blooms.

She doesn't bloom real often, but when she does...(like this morning) she really SHOWS OFF!!

I don't know the name of the cactus, but I know we will miss her when we move!

  2. That cactus is so exotic.
Glad it blooms on your side of the fence.
    Have a great weekend.
Hope you get some news about your new living quarters.

  3. Oh, I am so jealous. The only blooms we get from our next door neighbor are dandelions and other bad weeds which mess with my roses!
Now, I must go back and read your past posts to learn more about this move you are making!

  6. This is a beautiful cactus. It's generally known as the Orchid Cactus. Its proper name is Epiphyllum. We used to have a beautiful red one at our last house and it bloomed profusely, although each flower only blooms for a day. They are quite easy to grow in our area. By the time we left we were getting up to 10 to 15 blooms each year. There is plenty of information on the web if you just look up orchid cactus. You should ask your neighbor for a cutting and grow it in a large pot on your balcony. I wish we had thought to bring a cutting with us, but it was one of the things we forgot.

  7. It is beautiful, I can see why you asked the neighbours to let it be! We would never have a cactus growing outside here, let alone flowering! xx
