CREATIVE TUESDAY ~ OAK TREE

The theme for Creative Tuesday this time is "Oak Tree."  The majestic oak.  In the summer filled with leaves, sunshine and birds.  A great time for the children to play around and climb ~ in the winter, just as majestic with his branches laden with snow, little critters storing nuts in the hole in the trunk, waiting to see children come sliding down the hill on their sleds.  That's what comes to mind when I think Oak Tree.

  5. Oh my gosh, Wanda, I LOVE IT! Alex said the same thing when she saw it too and, to add to it, she loves red barns too! She wishes you were closer so you could show HER how to paint like that. Haha, whilst at it, show me too!

I can see your break away worked wonders for you. This is one of your bests yet again. I totally love the grey colours and winter take on it. It is so inviting. I'd pay you for a copy of this to hang up! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us all. BTw,I still plan on sending YOU something for your bday just have not got around to things like that quite yet!

    1. Mmm...one of my favorites of my paintings. Sometimes with watercolor things happen you don't even plan, and you step back and say ~ did I do that...that what happened with those greys and blacks. It was a wonderful trip and the days in Oregon were beautiful..had you said "Redwood trees" I have several photos that would have worked well for a subject. No worries about the bday...not necessary. Your friendship is enough. btw~ I love red barns too.

  10. Your words are as poetic as the tree is.
Dave and I often look at trees and say they are poetic...I guess after 50 years we speak our own language...(:0)

    1. Yes, trees are one of God's greatest in my book. Such a variety of different kinds. Love trees. They do speak....and they clap their hands, the bible says.

    1. Thanks Lissa ~ Trees have such personality, and I love the personality this old oak has. I bet it you looked real close you could find some initials carved in it. HaHa

  12. I think this is very beautiful indeed. Like many of your other visitors, I love the greys too and the tree is simply magnificent Wanda! I was trying to 'paint the weather' as an exercise last week. I'm not very good at knowing what colours will mix to make what but it was fun to play.
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my own entry. It's still too chilly here yet for a picnic :D

    1. Thanks Twinkle Toes, appreciate your nice words and your art journey. I try to think outside the envelope sometimes and use colors that aren't normally used. Like black and grey for a tree. I experiment with mixing colors in my pallet, and a little practice piece of paper.

Oh to be like you! lol :) Thank you for your prayers as it's been a day-to-day thing and will continue to be over the next few months. Yesterday was very bad for me but today is a little better.
