THIS AND THAT

Made up a batch of "Red Lobster" Cheddar Biscuits tonight for dinner.  Got the recipe on line.  They were really good.

Dinner was baked cod, sweet potatoes, butter lettuce with avocado and a cheddar biscuit.

I know my little glass table in the kitchen is way to "busy" but I just don't have room to put all the Easter things I love so busy it is.  I especially like the little rabbits sitting in the sunshine coming through the lace curtains.

Call me crazy, but I love to iron.  I don't have much ironing in the winter, but come Spring and Summer ~ the ironing board comes out as I love cotton and linen and both need to be ironed.  My dearest found my bin of summer clothes so they are washed, ironed and hanging in my closet.

Two of my favorite blouses are by "J Jill" and both have a little flair at the bottom.

I especially love the one with eyelet scalloped neck line.  Something fresh and cool wearing cotton.  Do you like cotton in the summer?

  1. cotton and linen...the two coolest fabrics for warm weather! I love them both! Your tops are lovely! J Jill is such a nice brand, too!

I do not share your love of ironing, though! haha.

    1. I do believe I'm in the minority when it come to ironing. Don't know too many people that do. I find it relaxing. I iron in the kitchen with my music playing.

  2. I do love cotton tops in the summer. The only sad thing is how short summer is.

Like Betsy, I am not a fan of ironing either.

    1. I was really fortunate, got both of my JJill's last year at our Thrift Store for a couple dollars. I figured it was because most people don't want clothes they have to iron. Lucky for me.

    1. Linda, I feel the same way...getting to know you and DL and the quads, and your fun home. I just love blogland. We use small plates so I can control our portions. That really helps us stay on target.

  7. Wanda- I think I may have found the only other person in blogland that loves ironing. I do, too!!! I get such a sense of satisfaction out of seeing clothes all ironed. I iron all my pillowcases and flat work pieces. And I LOVE J Jill and have quite a few pieces of her clothing. You must be tall, too. xo Diana

  8. Wanda, you do a beautiful job ironing, that's for sure! Your blouses look lovely. I don't mind ironing - I just don't like hauling out the ironing board. Love the biscuits. Made them for a family dinner recently and everyone loved them.

    1. Well, when I was first married...I took in ironing for some extra money. Mainly men's dress shirts. Starched and stiff..HaHa $1.00 a shirt.

Those biscuits are good....I will make them again.

    1. We had a large country kitchen in our home up North before retiring....so I really had to downsize ~ But the little round glass table is perfect in my small kitchen.

  13. I do not like anything that has to be ironed. Although I recently got a steamer for my photography and find that to be a perfect compromise.

  17. We had cheddar garlic biscuits with our dinner tonight too! Mine weren't homemade though. I once found a mix for those biscuits at Walmart. It was actually labeled Red Lobster cheddar biscuit mix. I bought it and made them and they were very good. But I haven't been able to find that mix ever since. I'm not a fan of ironing. I just iron as needed.
