GROWING OLD WITH MY VALENTINE

Kenny Rogers sings "Through the Years" and on this Valentine's Day I thought I would share a few pictures of my growing old with the Best Valentine ever!

Married 1961.  The bottom picture was taken in 1966.  Julie, Michel and Myk.  Our youngest daughter Jill, didn't come along for another 5 years.

The colored picture was taken for our Church Directory in 1981.
I was still a redhead and my Valentine had nice dark hair.  That's what we looked like when we moved to Hughson, and Don became the Pastor.  We were there 27 wonderful years.

Fast forward a few years ~Another picture for the Church Directory ~ I think this one was 1991 or so.  Lake Tahoe has been a special place for us "Through the Years..So I'm not sure of the year on that one.  And you will recognize that older couple in the bottom picture.

We've spent 53 Valentine Day's together and I'm hopeful there will be many many more years to share our love.

Happy Valentine's Day!

  2. Wanda,

I just love posts like this, a true love story with pictures on top of it! I looked and looked at your features and they are exactly the same through the years and it seems only your hair color and style changed. And your husband, I think he came into "his own" when he turned gray and acquired the beard, he looks very distinguished and handsome! The same is true for my guy.

You have so much to celebrate, 53 years together and a beautiful family. What more can we ask for?!

    XO,
    Jane

    1. You are kind. I absolutely love my dearest beard. I so agree...he came into his own when he grew it. I've always like facial hair on a man, but he never did. But now he really likes it, and so does everyone else. I am BLESSED!

    1. It's a little harder isn't it. The night before Don had his 5 bypasses years ago, it was our anniversary. Our kids got dinner at Marie Calendars and brought to hospital. Doctor said..go ahead and eat it....gonna clean you out tomorrow. HaHa

    1. I was asking Don to grow one for years, but he never wanted to go through the waiting it out until it looks good...but in retirement who cares? I really like it.
