BUSY MONDAY

I really love my little Beta Fish "Freddie" but he sure messes up his water.  Today was 'clean Freddie's house' which I did and he was very happy.  Did I ever tell you how smart he is.  In the morning I say "Good Morning Freddie" and he responds by coming to the top of the water and letter me rub his back.  Call me crazy but it's true.

A follow up doctors appointment and then off to Costco for my monthly trip.  Had my list, and my dearest by my side was working the calculator because my goal this year is to stay within my food budget.  I did it in January with a little left over...so hopefully, I'll do as good in February.

Bought Chicken Thighs at Costco and put one of the packs of three in the crock pot with some seasoning, broth and a spring of rosemary.

I hate to admit it, but I'm so easily influenced, that when Linda put her mother's IHOP's strawberry crepes on her blog...I started drooling.  So Sunday after church my dearest agreed to let me indulge myself with a big plate.  I have to tell you I cleaned it up all by myself.  It was delicious!!!

Was your Monday busy too?

  1. Not too busy. Got the house straightened up. Granddaughter is having her small group bible study at our house every Monday late afternoon for about 8 to 10 weeks.
We are escaping the house for a few weeks while they get settled and feel comfortable. Then we will stay hidden in the office for that time..(:0) Love that she asked if our place could be used. Going to have early supper out and do a few errands.
Love your photo of the crepes. Amanda made us crepes for our anniversary dinner with the family. Absolutely yummy.
    Precious times and memories.

    1. your home is a place of ministry and I'm so sure your granddaughter knew that when she asked. We have enjoyed ministry in your home with your small group. I hadn't had crepes in ages, and I just devoured them. (burp>>>.HaHa)

  2. Ah!! I LOVE that pic of you and the crepes!! They look delicious and YOU are BEAUTIFUL!! Today was Susie Homemaker Day for me. Trying to stay positive even though I have a recurring health issue to deal with! Drats! Called the doctor's office at 10:00 this morning and still waiting for a return call....and now I'm certain it won't be today!

  3. Your fish sounds very smart and I think he is training you to feed him and clean his water, by being so friendly. LOL
I exercised in a pool today, shopped at Trader Joes, did a book review for our church bookstore, planted green bunching onion seeds & more. My dh and I shop at Costco too, about every 5 weeks. That chicken in your crockpot will be delicious I am sure.

    1. Thanks for your compliment... I know how to faint on a Sunday face. I do appreciate makeup. HaHa
Two things I've found helps...make a list and stick to it, and use the calculator so you know exactly how much you are spending.

  7. Yes today was busy, Abe had a yearly doctor appointment with his lung doctor at 9:15, we finally got into see the doctor at 10:15 I think they double booked the doctor thinking the weather might be bad and there would be cancellations. He's good for another year, unless something comes up. Stopped at WalMart and got a few items we can't find here in our town. Dropped off water bill payment, filled the car with gasoline. Got home in time to have a bite of lunch, had also picked up two kinds of white meat chunks from hot Deli at WalMart, one was spicy and one BBQ flavor. Did up few dishes, and before I knew it was almost time for Granddaughter to be picked up, but her Mother was home today to do that. So I came out to get on the computer and dozed off two times, almost hit my head on the keyboard, LOL. So went in to take a little nap, but never got it done. After supper dishes were cleared away, came back to computer, it just told me it's 8:30, so going to shut it down and get on my iPad. I find I can't do as much with that, but I can pick up the Game Show Network and two Hallmark net work shows, since Abe subscribes to them on his TV. I don't get them on my TV. So off to put on my nightgown and call my Mother, let the dog out one last time, once everyone is in bed, I let the cat out of his cage, he sleeps in the rocker, dog sleeps on the sofa and I sleep on the recliner in the family room with them. We started trying the cat to do this way of sleeping, because he was having accidents in his cage with his bowels and that's a mess to clean up early in the morning. This way he can get into his litter box if he needs to. By the way, the strawberry crepes sound delicious. Take care, tell hubby hello from Ohio, the weather man keeps saying we are having a winter storm warning, great just what we need, more snow.

    1. I wonder if all beta fish like back rubs. It's taken some time...didn't happen overnight.

I think I'm going to make some crepes. They were really good.

I like days I can just stay home and do some housework. Like the smell of putting clean sheets on the bed. Smelling something in the crock pot...

  10. Monday is my quiet day. I had a nice visit with two small friends and their momma, and other than that I did very little. Oh, yes. I did wash and fold a few loads of laundry, and I ran the vacuum, though not very thoroughly. Tomorrow starts things heating up again and it promises to be busy clear through til Sunday. (Yikes!)

    1. HaHa...Jim join the group of list forgetters. When I go to Costco...I'm really focus, but during the rest of the month...my list is usually left on the table in the kitchen. Have a good week!
