THIS AND THAT WEDNESDAY

After dinner, my dearest said we were having a wonderful sunset.  I grabbed my camera and this is what I got from the back porch.  Beautiful!

I baked a head of cauliflower.  Seasoned it with my rosemary kosher salt and olive oil.  After it was tender, added some shredded Mexican Mix cheese which melted and it was delicious!

Remember my new calendar for 2014 featuring Disney characters.  Well look how cute February is ~~ Ain't Love Grand?

We have breakfast and devotions every morning at the little glass table in the kitchen.  The wicker chairs are cute, but very hard to sit on for very long.  Today at the Thrift Shop I found these two cushions.  They are not the perfect shape, but they look nice and boy it sure makes sitting a lot more comfortable.  It was also Senior Day ~ 30% off everything.  It was a good buy.

    1. I hesitate to bake one whole, as I have a memory of my mother doing it years ago and finding a green worm when she cut into it. Let me tell you I washed it so hard it would have drowned anything living in the middle. HaHa. No worms and it was delicious...Don had to have seconds!

  4. But yesterday was Tuesday...
I am having a tough time keep track of days this week and to top it off ABC Wednesday always starts on Tuesday.
I am liking the look of all the yummy cauliflowers out there, but last night we had good ol' broccoli with cheese sauce. (It goes good with meatloaf.)

  5. HaH, sorry to confuse you. I post for Wednesday, on Tues evening. But get my days mixed up all the time. Love meatloaf the other night with scalloped potatoes. I like broccoli with cheese sauce too.

    1. You can also do it in a crock pot. Just put some chicken or veg. broth in the bottom and then pour your olive oil and seasoning on top. Slow cook several hours until tender.

    1. If you like cauliflower, you will like this recipe, I'm sure. My hubby doesn't usually ask for seconds on veggies...he did on this.

  8. The sunset is gorgeous! That is one of my favorite things, and sometimes a sunset can make me feel just a little melancholy. The cauliflower looks delicious and that is the second time this week I have seen a recipe about baking cauliflower.
Congrats on the cushions. I think you "done good."

  9. Gorgeous sunset. We have finally gotten a smidge of rain, so no sunset tonight.
Are you sure that is a Disney calendar? Looks like Warner Bros. to me with Pepe Le Pew and or Sylvester. I think I murdered the French spelling though.
    Feeling better finally.

    1. I totally stand corrected. I guess I was thinking all cartoon characters had to be Disney. I put on my reading glasses, and saw the small print at the bottom of the calendar....Yes It's Looney Tunes from Warner Bros....Thanks...I'll be some of the other Disney fans saw the error too.

    1. In the oven 350 depending on the size of cauliflower head...35 -45 min or until tender. Add cheese at the end and leave in oven till melted.
Crock Pot...High until hot, then low for 4-5 hours or until tender.
