THIS AND THAT TODAY

You know how much I love wandering through our thrift store.  Lately I've been taking the time to dig through bins in the back of the store with many odds and ends.  Today I found a roll of Rubbermaid Shelf Liner for 99 cents.  I've been needed to organize my drawers and shelves so it was fun to give it a new look.  Amazing the paper is red checked...and you know I have red in my kitchen.

Also found two more little jars, one for the fused rosemary salt, and oil.

It had been months since I just sat down, put up my feet and watch a "chick flick".  So that's just what I did and if you haven't seen this one...be sure to get your kleenex for the ending!!!

Had one tortilla left so made Don a Tuna Wrap for lunch today.  He said it was really good.

Jill sent me a new picture of Tristan.  San Diego Chargers have a new fan.  Jill and her husband lived in San Diego for many years before moving to Oregon.  So they are still fans, and now have added Tristan.

What did you do today?

    1. I put my knitting away after making red and candy striped dishcloths for little Christmas gifts, but my hands have stiffen up, so I need to keep knitting. Going to get some pretty spring colors and start up again.
I haven't made biscuits in a while, that sure sounds good.

  2. That is adorable of Tristan! I have been fortunate to find the Rubbermaid liner too at the thrift store. It's expensive elsewhere and I was delighted to get a bargain! You were lucky that it was red!

    1. I'm so in love with that little guy. All the other grandchildren are so much older, it's fun to have a baby again. I do love our thrift store. I almost always find something. Some great children's books too.

  3. I started another new project today. It would be a quick one if my sewing machine was working right, but since it isn't behaving properly, I'm sewing by hand. Thought maybe I'd make some child size aprons. Maybe I can get those grandkids and Rocky to do some baking with me.

    1. I loaned my sewing machine to my DIL as I wasn't using it. She made a really nice cushions for her porch swing. Little aprons sound so cute. My granddaughters had some when they were little and loved wearing them.

  4. Sounds like you had a successful thrifting trip. I haven't been in a long time and want to do that one day soon. Now that the weather is warming back up I don't mind getting outside. I've seen that movie too. It's a good one.

    1. I think we have one of the best thrift shops in the area. I checked out other ones, but always come back to our store call Sun Thrift.
I enjoyed the story in the movie. Lots of good dialogue on relationships..

  6. Oh, that shelf liner was just waiting for you! Perfect in your kitchen and your drawers look fresh and organized! I love browsing through thrift stores. There is one huge awesome one about 40 minutes from me and I haven't been there in ages. Might have to take myself on a little trip! :)

    Tristan is GROWING! :)

Today I went to the grocery (finally the boys went back to school) and then the big kids came for dinner. Gave Taylor a hair cut after we ate and they hung around and we watched HGTV for a while.

I need to take my Christmas stuff down and clean up the house...maybe this weekend. :)

    1. I probably wouldn't go so often, but our thrift store is like 5 minutes or less. And they have everyday bargains. 50% off anything with a certain color tag.
Don wanted me to give him a beard trim, but I talked him into going for a haircut and letting the girl trim it. I do it most of the time, but it needed a little professional help.
I bet is was really cold out shopping today, although I saw from your blog is was a warmer.

  7. I really love the red checked liner...so bright and cheery! I used to get so frustrated working with that. Finally I just lined the bottoms of my bathroom vanities with pretty gift wrap! I just whip it off once a year and add new! I can be really resourceful when I'm feeling lazy! lol!

    Tristan is a cutie!

    XO,
    Jane

    1. Jane, every time I open one of those drawers now, I smile. If it makes you smile, good buy!
I've used gift wrap in my dresser drawers. There are some beautiful patterns. Tristan melts my heart.
