SOMEONE IS MESSING WITH MOTHER NATURE

This crazy hot weather in California is messing with Mother Nature.  A poinsettia that has been sitting in a pot in my back without a leaf or bloom decided to bloom this week.  I was hoping it would come back and was going to throw it out after Christmas.

The neighbors tulip tree thinks it's Spring and is in full bloom.

All this unusual hot weather has also cause some terrible fires and damage to property and homes.  I hope it goes back to normal soon.

  1. Terrible about the fires and damage. That is something about the tulip tree being in full bloom! That poinsettia is pretty! Hope you have a very nice weekend, Wanda.

    1. I'm wondering if the tree will lose it's blooms and then be bare when it's suppose to bloom.

  2. Praying your state gets rain!

The poinsettia is beautiful...I've never seen one bloom like that...it almost looks like a vine!

    1. When I bought it a couple years ago, it was a huge plant full of blooms. Then they all fell off and all was just bare limbs. I really was going to toss it, but just let it sit by the wall, and today was such a surprise to see these small blooms.

  3. I'm praying for all of those threatened by the fires. My son was in San Diego when fires came so close to his home that they were instructed to head to the beach...Scary.

Isn't that cool about forgiving plants? My poinsettias are doing great. Years ago I had one on my desk at work and it lived until July!! People were amazed! TLC, I think!

    XO,
    Jane

    1. Linda, we do have Magnolia trees, but their blooms are much larger and white.

  6. I've seen the fires on the news! That's is so scary. I also read on someone else's blog that lives in CA about the heat. Wow! It's so interesting to see how different the weather is from one coast to the other.
