GOT MAIL?

Several times I've thought of painting our old rusted mailbox.  But it was always a thought, and never done.  Well this year, I just couldn't put a bow on that old mailbox, so a can of gold spray paint in the garage was just the ticket.  Ten minutes later, a brand new Christmas Mailbox.

I have a Christmas List that each year that gets a card or letter.  This year I decided on a Christmas Letter sharing the events of 2013 in our Family.  Today I was writing little notes on the letters, and drawing a little holly on the envelopes.  I'm about half done, and then there are always those last minute folks you missed ~~~so out goes another letter.

Molly is in the Christmas Spirit now that she's been groomed and a new scarf sporting Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  Sitting on the arm of the couch getting a ray of morning sun is her favorite place.

How is your Christmas Countdown going?

  4. Hi Wanda! I enjoyed my visit! Your mailbox looks terrific! Isn't it funny how the things we put off the longest or dread the most turn out to usually be easy, quick and fun?!

Your skillet dinner look wonderful. I have to try something like this. It's all about getting things done at the same time and this is a perfect combo!

    Love meeting you!

    XO,
    Jane

    1. Thanks for stopping by Jane. That mailbox has needed that paint for several years. All it took was 2 screws and it was off...why oh why did I wait.

  7. I started buying gifts since October and I continue to buy whenever I see something for the right person in my list. That way, i won't buy gifts the last minute. It has also been a tradition in my father's side to give each relative a gift... quite budget wrecking, hehehe. Take care Ms Wanda :)

    1. Boy I know what you mean. We used to buy for everyone, but with 4 children, 12 grandchildren, inlaws, outlaws (haha) we decided this year to draw names for the adults, and buy for the kids.
      Merry Christmas, dear Farida.

  8. Like your Christmas decorated blog. The mail box looks terrific. We don't buy for every one. We use to, last year I ws able to give them a $25.00 gift certificate to the store of their choice. Here all this time I've been accumulating points with my charge card I use to purchase our prescriptions, I didn't know what it meant and one of our daughters told me, so I contacted my charge card company and found I could turn in the points for gift cards. That was quite a surprise. So I had fun shopping on line for gift cards for restaurants, music, department stores and all sorts of things. My daughter said she had never heard of anyone that had that many points before. LOL We were suppose to draw names for the adults, but didn't get it done, so hoping next year we can, and still buy for the two younger ones.

    1. Wow, that's really a great way to shop. Now that our grandkids are older, the little fun toy stuff just doesn't work. HaHa. Adult toys are a lot more expensive. Gift cards is a nice alternative.

  12. Well I have already started putting up decorations in the house nothing on the outside yet and been looking at Christmas trees and so far it has just been talk about getting a tree the prices are rather steep for our blood this year regardless if artificial or real. My honey been rather busy at getting around at putting up the lights so we may not have lights this year.

    1. Hi Rosy ~ We don't do lights outside. To old to climb ladders, but I do decorate my front porch with flowers and bows, and as you can see painted my mailbox gold and added a bow.

  13. I bet your postman enjoys that festive mailbox every day.
Our block shares a mailbox. Decorating it in any way would probably cause my own photo to show up in the local post office. What do you think?
