MONDAY, MONDAY

This morning I had to laugh when I got to my YMCA exercise class, as Pauline, one of my friends just loves to dress for every holiday.  We all get a kick out of her "different" headdresses every day.  Today she was wearing a "knife" headband, skeleton earrings, a hand coming out of her pumpkin tee shirt.  The leader of the Senior Class said "Pauline, I've been looking for my kitchen knife."  Wonder what she'll wear tomorrow.

A hour workout at the YMCA, and then came home and decided to clean my kitchen from TOP to BOTTOM, which means everything has to come out in the living room.  Three hours later, I finished and put every thing back.

I love having a CLEAN kitchen.  Even the curtains came down and got a good washing.  Now I'm pooped.  Glad I put those pork ribs in the Crock Pot early this morning.  Some leftover squash and green beans and dinner will be ready without any work.

What was your MONDAY like?

  1. My house did not get clean today because I did not make the least attempt to clean it. Instead I went to meet Della for breakfast and then she came home with me for a little while. I like meeting my blog friends in person. :)

    1. I can't remember what it was like to have a kitchen that stayed clean, but I like yours.

    2. Martha, I don't remember having a "clean" kitchen when I had kids at home. This is part of the charm of retirement.

  2. I clicked on your kitchen photo so I could see it in a larger size. It's SO cute...what a charming place for the heart of your home! I've done that same thing before and it really does take three hours! But every thing is sparkly and orderly when you're done and it feels so good. What a great thing to do before the holidays start!

Today I painted a sign for a second hand shop that is going in down town. They asked me to paint one with their logo on it, so that was my big project for today. :)

    2. Your project sound like a lot of fun. Do they have a cute Logo? Will we get to see it?

Yes, I was thinking the same thing..a good head start on the holidays. I even took all my cookbooks out of the case (not in the picture) on the side by the stove, and wiped them down. I have so many, decided to give several away to a young mom who hasn't got a collection yet.

    1. I've been keeping an eye on your kitchen. Lots of work going on. I do love my white cabinets as I can decorate for all the seasons with whatever colors I choose. They do get lots of fingerprints though.

  5. I need to call it no fun Monday. I sit behind a desk for 8 hours. I did come home and ran 3 miles, but with it getting dark earlier, I may have to adjust that. I love your kitchen. I get in those cleaning moods too. My only problem is the mood doesnt last long enough to finish. For instance, every blue moon or so, I'll decide I need to clean out my closet and take cothes to the share center. I get half way through, and decide I need everything and then throw it back in the closet. Some day I will fit in those 30 inch jeans again and I have to keep EVERY running shirt I've ever gotten. I'd never wear them anywhere, but they have memories attached to them. ramble over.

  6. Oh Jim, I loved your ramble. You are so much like my dearest in not being able to get rid of old clothes. I guess it's a man thing..Don can't get rid of things either.
Years ago we were joggers, and got shirts from all our "Fun Runs"....those were hard to part with.

  7. My day???
Cleaning my kitchen...well straightening and tidying...not a deep clean.
    Some laundry....
Lots of email business and shopping for some birthday gifts...
Oh yes, doing my ABC Wednesday. It took me a very long time today...over an hour...
Crock pot beef stew and a banana blueberry bread.
Had to do something with the smelly over-ripe bananas.
Chasing the sunset tonight with Dave. Actually think we got a few good photos out of it.
Now I think I'll just fiddle around on the computer since Dave is watching football.

    1. A busy day and productive too it sounds like. Your beef stew and banana bread sounds so good. We found out Don is borderline diabetic so for the next three months he is not getting bad carbs. No sweets like I usually make. I froze my bananas for later.
Don and I watch football and I finished another dishcloth for our Lady's Craft Boutique Nov. 2.
Can't believe I have my ABC ready this week to publish tomorrow.

  8. You had a most productive day, Wanda! I love a clean house, too... I'd just rather be doing LOTS of things other than doing it. LOL! I love your friend's sense of humor and dressing for the season! ;) Enjoy that clean kitchen! blessings ~ tanna

  9. Pauline sounds like she is a hoot! My kitchen needs a deep cleaning, too. Ugh! Last Friday I did my living room and that took 6 hours. This weekend I spent many hours potting plants. Now that I don't mind doing. :) Best wishes, Tammy
