THOUGHTS FOR SUNDAY ~ DAILY PRAYER

We have a Cactus on our back fence and once in a while it blooms.  The pod shows up, and the next day you have this beautiful bloom, and then "poof" within a few hours, less than a day...it's gone. Swivelled up to nothing.

I took this picture this morning, and by nightfall it will be gone.  It made me think of praying.  We might tell someone with all good intentions we will pray for them...and then "poof" we forget, and the moment has passed and a blessing lost.

Dear Lord, help me daily to seize the moments to come to you in prayer.  For the little things in life and the large ones.  Help me to pray for those I love and care about, and not let a fleeting moment pass that I can lift someone up in prayer. Thank you for always listening, and ready to give us an answer and the grace to accept that answer.  I love You.  Amen.

  1. Thank you Wanda for this reminder.
I have to admit I am guilty of promising to pray and poof it is gone from my memory.
If I say I will pray I need to stop right them and do it.
I don't want the moment to pass and the blessing to be lost.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
    Love you
    Sue

    1. Oh Sue, I deal with this all the time. Especially on fb when I say...praying for you, and then go on to the next thing, and forget the prayer. Going to Santa Barbara this weekend. Don gets to preach! Yeah.

    1. This will be my prayer on the Daily Prayer Blog tomorrow. We are going to be in Santa Barbara Sunday, Don's preaching at a Retirement Village for their chapel service. So I'm making it work for both.

  3. Guilty. If I don't pray then, sometimes I remember too late. I have also set my alarm on my calendar to remind me.

    1. Nonnie, aren't we all guilty. But I like the idea of setting your alarm. When I was in High School Youth for Christ Club, every time the bell rang at school, between classes, etc. we were encouraged to send up a prayer. That was a good lesson. I still remember that when I hear a bell ring.

    1. Isn't that the truth. Had you on my mind. How is your "watching Vin working out? It's so nice and cool here. I don't miss the heat.

    2. I wish I could say everything is peachy, but he is a tough little character and my patience has worn threadbare a few times. I did learn that a nap for Vin is not a good idea. Bedtime was a nightmare last night. Thankfully, my dear daughter has returned from her missions trip to Grenada. She is good with little ones and I will eventually get a chance to catch up with myself and scrub the "fail" sticker back off my head.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

    3. Just got back from S.B. and it was a good trip. Love hearing my man preach! But sorry your week has been so hard. I don't see "fail" on the back of your head, I see wonderful trooper, willing to be a servant and help others. Love and hugs. Wanda
