WHAT A NICE VALENTINE DAY

This afternoon, my dearest took me to The Olive Garden for an early Valentine Dinner.   If you look very close at his face, you will see something I've been asking him to do for 50 years.  He's growing a beard.  I have always thought facial hair on a man was handsome.  You can blame Tom Selleck and that great mustache that started it.  It's just a start...can't wait to see it when it's a full beard.

When I woke up this morning I wanted to bake something Valentine, but didn't have anything in the house to use.  Then it hit me... I had bananas, and I had strawberries.... Why not Strawberry Banana Bread?  It's yummy.  A new invention.  My landscapers thought so too.

After our early dinner, we decided to bring home the dessert and have it at home with a nice fresh cup of coffee.  It's a a mixture of chocolate cake, cheese cake and chocolate mousse.  It's been a great Valentine Day.  Hope your day was as special as ours.

    1. Thank you for your kind words Farida. I think you would like the combination of stawberry and banana...it turned out better than I thought. The whole house smelled so good. It was the day the landscapers do the yard, so I shared a little loaf with them.

  7. Nice photo of the two of you. I agree with you ... I keep trying to get my husband to grow a goatee again but he won't do it. He says it is scratchy and doesn't like having to shape it all the time, but I definitely think he looks so much more handsome with it. I made lemon zucchini bread today using Dawn's recipe: http://girlunwinding.wordpress.com/2013/02/13/lemon-zucchini-bread/
    Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

    1. I'm taking photo's so I can keep a record of the progress of the beard. When it gets fuller, he will probably go with a mustache and goatee.

Your lemon zucchini bread sounds great. Thanks for the link.

  8. You and your Dearest are the cutest and loving-ness couple I know.
I think Don is going to look so handsome with the new look.
We ended up going out to a reopened restaurant early yesterday afternoon. Kids had gone there for lunch and gave it rave reviews. I figured I could do the prize of locally grown ingredients tonight instead. Didn't really want to cook on Valentines Day anyway...(:0)
I think there is a Myer lemon tart in the future too.

We have our huge Thrive conference at Church May 1-4th. I think we could use a break after that and before Breakaway Kids VBS June 17-28.
You can still the B&B for a stop over on the way to see Jill and new baby.
