MISS KITTY AND MISS COW

One of the things my friend Elizabeth misses most living in the Rest Home is Miss Kitty.  She's had the grey tabby for many years.
The cat was use to being outside so stayed there after she moved.

Her son lives in an apartment near by, and cannot have pets, so he goes over every evening and sets out food, and Miss Kitty comes out from a shed where she's staying and gets her nightly meal.

I'm sure she hunts birds and mice, and looks like she's doing fine on her own.  Elizabeth's hope, is that whoever moves into the house when it's renovated will adopt the cat.

All I know is she misses her cat, so when I was in the Thrift store this morning looking for more bins, I saw the trivet of a cat that looks like Miss Kitty.  It has a hook on the back for hanging, so next visit I will take it to her.

I have been accused from time to time of liking a little coffee in my cream.  It's well known that I love hot steaming coffee with lots of cream.  While at the Thrift Store I saw this cup, and just started laughing.  As Betsy would say, "It jumped into my cart, so I had to bring it home".  I'm having a cup right now.  Perhaps it would be cheaper to buy a cow. HeeHee

I so enjoyed your comments yesterday about what your day was like.  I do respond to all your comments, so be sure and check back so we can chat a while.

  1. I know Elizabeth will treasure the kitty trivet. Sounds like her son is handling the situation well, but perhaps a kitty rescue org. would be interested in finding a permanent home for the cat if the house remains vacant for very long. Just a thought.
I adore your new coffee CREAM mug!!!!! I am the exact same way about a little coffee in my cream! We would make good "drinking" companions!!!

    1. I have been thinking of talking to her son about that very thing. I would adopt it, but our grandchildren are extremely allegric to cats, and living so close, the cat would go back to where it's familiar.

  3. How sad to leave a beloved cat behind. I hope someone adopts it soon. Your friend will like the cat trivet, that is very thoughtful.

  4. Oh, that makes me so sad for the cat. I am glad her son is bringing food, but my Trudy would miss us so much. Love your mug. I like cream in my coffee too.

    1. Oh our Molly too, Nonnie. Don't even like to think about it!

I drank coffee black for years, and then one day a friend introduced me to "real" cream and I was hooked!

  5. I'm praying for a good outcome for Miss Kitty! I'm sure Elizabeth does miss her.

Cute, cute mug! haha! I love cream in my coffee, too! What an appropriate mug for a cream-loving coffee drinker! I haven't been to the thrift store since before the holidays! I miss it!

    1. If we can catch her, I could box her up and ship her to you.. Then I would know she'd have a good home. Don't I wish I had a Betsy close by to adopt her.

Our Thrift store is just blocks away, and they have different specials everyday..Don and I call it our retirement hobby. How many places can you shop and spend $2.00?

    2. Well, you know if I was close, I would take her. :)

Thrifting is a great hobby. I'm always thrilled when I find something that I actually had on a list as really needing. I go in and there one is! So much fun! The best part is the price! Just like my little postcard holder. I think it was a couple of dollars, and it's something that I really enjoy! You can't beat that!

    3. Now I'm looking for a pastry blender. Mine broke, and Martha thinks the antique store might be the place to find one. Walmart and Target didn't have one. I'll keep my eye open at the thrift store for one.

  7. LOL! I think "jumping into our carts" must be some kind of national issue! LOL! Love your mug and it is so sweet of you to get the kitty for Elizabeth. You know our cat, Velvet, came with our house. I'll hope the new owners will love Miss Kitty like we have loved Velvet. blessings ~ tanna

I'm so comforted to know Velvet came with your house. I'm going to share that with Elizabeth. That will be good for her to hear. Thanks for your blessings...I feel them!!!

  8. I have been drinking coffee since I was little kid. My brothers and I always wanted to drink coffee with our folks. So they would put a little dab of coffee in a cup, add milk and sugar,(lots of milk and sugar) and we thought we were big stuff. I did cut back on the milk and sugar when I grew up, but I still use milk and sugar. Love to start by day that way.

    1. HaHa, that's how I've let my grandchildren drink coffee with me.

Since we use fat free milk for general use, I do like my half/half with my coffee.

  9. If I moved there I definitely would adopt Miss Kitty. To me it would be a lovely omen if there was already a cat there.

  10. lly ought to open a coffee shop one day.

(Now where did the rest of my comment go?) It should say, "I have a habit of looking at coffee mugs in thrift stores, but I already have a cupboard full of mugs, as well as a box of Mom's coffee cups packed away in a box in the barn. I really should open a coffee shop one day."
